"Handles almost anything I toss into it"
I mostly use Scooter Software for comparing files, and it’s been great for that. I’ll be in the middle of checking a text file, then oh yeah, a folder diff, or a zip, or some random CSV from work, and it just opens it without making a fuss. Even those weird config files we get sometimes are fine. It keeps me from bouncing between a bunch of different tools, which is probably the main reason I stick with it. It’s not flashy or anything, but it works, and that’s kind of all I need.

"Scooter Software has been solid for me so…"
Scooter Software has been solid for me so far. It opens quickly, doesn’t drag, and even when I’m comparing larger folders, it keeps up without making me wait around. The whole thing is simple to use and pretty much just does what I need it to do. the speed and reliability are the main reasons I’m sticking with it, but if it ever started slowing me down or getting clunky, I’d probably start looking for something else.

"The docs actually got me unstuck"
I was messing around with a few settings in Beyond Compare and, i wasn’t expecting much when I landed on the Scooter Software docs, but they were actually helpful.

They were clear without being packed with a bunch of extra stuff, and the examples — especially wait, the folder compare ones, were the part that really made things click for me.
Some of the pages are simple, but that’s kind of exactly what I needed. I fixed my issue without having to contact support, so yeah, 5 stars from me for the documentation

"Support was actually helpful"
I had a little problem with my license and expected it to be annoying, but the support team replied fast. They gave me a few clear steps, I followed them, and somehow it was fixed quicker than I thought. Not sure why that makes the whole product feel better, but it kind of does. Nice to deal with real people who actually help.

It works sometimes, but the random freezes get annoying quickly. What makes it more confusing is that the website makes it sound like everything should run smoothly, so I wasn’t expecting these issues. When it works, it’s fine, but the inconsistency is frustrating

I’ve used Scooter on Windows and Mac, and every now and then on Linux too. From a customer’s point of view, it’s nice that the experience stays consistent no matter which system you’re on. Setup was straightforward enough, and while the interface isn’t the most polished, it does what you need it to do.

"Great Features, But My Trust Wavered a Bit"
It has pretty much all the comparison features I was looking for, it works great. That said, after being burned by other tools that promised a lot and didn’t deliver, I went in a little skeptical. This one has helped rebuild some of that trust, but I’m still keeping an eye on it.

I mainly use Scooter Software when I need to merge code or config files, and it makes the changes easy enough to follow without feeling overwhelming. I like being able to choose what to keep without second guessing everything. The folder compare has also come in handy a bunch of times when I’ve mixed up versions. It’s not the prettiest tool, but it does the job and has definitely saved me from making mistakes

I mostly use Scooter Software for syncing folders, and it’s been really handy. The side-by-side folder comparison is easy to follow, and I especially like how clearly it shows what’s different before I copy anything over. Being able to choose specific files or folders instead of just syncing everything blindly is a big plus. It did take me a bit to figure out a few of the settings, but once I got comfortable with it, it’s been very reliable. It’s not perfect, but it definitely saves me time.

I mostly use Scooter Software for automation and little scripts when I need to compare folders or files. it’s saved me from doing a ton of boring manual checking. The command line side works well too, and once you mess around with it a bit, it’s easy to get the hang of. Overall, I’m really happy with it.

I’ve been using it with Git and, it’s been smooth overall. The diffs are easy to read, and the merge tools do what they’re supposed to without a bunch of drama. Setting it up took longer than I wanted, which was a little annoying, but once I finally got through that part, I haven’t really had any issues.
